A new stability result for switched linear systems

Abstract

In this paper we extend the result by Shorten and Narendra on common quadratic Lyapunov functions for pairs of matrices in companion form. Specifically, we show that their result extends to more general matrix pairs provided that an associated transfer function matrix is symmetric. Examples are given to illustrate the usefulness of this result. © 2013 EUCA.
