A survey of public Web Services
Abstract
The methodology to provide the first characterization of public web services (WS) in terms of their evolution, location, complexity, message size, and response time is presented. The amazon web services sight is analyzed and the message size predicted is compared by the message size observed during invocations. The initial results show that the number of public WS does not increase dramatically and that about three fifths of the current WS population is based in the USA. The results also indicate that there are substantial differences between the sizes of WS messages and of existing web objects.
