Electron paramagnetic resonance of Mn2+ in KTaO3
Abstract
The electron paramagnetic resonance of Mn2+ in KTaO3 was measured over a temperature range 4-110 K. At 77 K, the spin-Hamiltonian constants are g=2. 0000. 001, g=2. 0000. 001, D=+0. 1470. 003 cm-1, A=-(86.50.5)×10-4 cm-1, A=-(841. 5)×10-4 cm-1. The results indicate that the Mn2+ is substitutional at a Ta5+ site with an adjacent oxygen vacancy. The temperature dependence of D is correlated with the soft-mode frequency of the host. The quadrupole splitting Q=+(0. 80. 1)×10-4 cm-1 was determined from the forbidden hyperfine transitions. © 1971 The American Physical Society.
