ERASABLE OPTICAL RECORDING TECHNOLOGIES.
Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. The widespread acceptance of optical recording technology in the consumer market place has provided the technological base for the development of erasable digital optical storage devices. Magnetooptic, phase change and dye polymer materials are being actively pursued for the short term, and longer range approaches based on photochemical hole-burning and holographic techniques are still areas of basic research.
