Evaluation of the anisotropy constant using transverse biased initial susceptibility method
Abstract
After the results obtained from the simulation of the behavior of a 2D uniaxial micromagnetic model, we discuss the applicability of the Hoffmann model to the analysis of the experimental transverse susceptibility data and, more specifically, the possibility of obtaining from those data the anisotropy constant. According to our conclusions, the Hoffmann model is only appropriate to describe highly anisotropic, finite size systems having dimensions larger than the exchange and magnetostatic correlation lengths and having known local anisotropy distributions.
