Layout techniques for mixed-signal VLSI design
Abstract
The basic layout technique that can be adopted to optimize circuit performance on large very large scale integration (VLSI) designs were investigated. Mixed signal layout are divided into two main areas - book or macro designs, that covers the design of the individual circuit blocks and used in the top level chip layout process. The circuit block design involves design at device level for books or at primitive block level for macros, which are high performance circuit subsystem. Various computer aided design (CAD) were developed to analyze simultaneous switching problems on large ASIC designs and are found to be useful for mixed signal simulations.
