Mobile IP registration protocol with user anonymous authentication

Abstract

In order to solve the user anonymous authentication problem in mobile IP registration, a mobile IP registration protocol with user anonymous authentication was proposed. Using the Diffie-Hellman key exchange scheme, the mobile node (MN) generates the dynamic session key shared with the home agent (HA). MN encrypts the MN's real identity with the session key to construct its temporary identity (TID) in the registration request message; HA decrypts the received TID to get the MN's real identity. The user anonymity and location moving untractability are achieved due to the dynamic TID. The asymmetric and symmetric cryptography are employed for mobile entity authentications. Theoretical analysis demonstrated that the proposed protocol accomplishes both strong anonymity and mutual authentication among three mobile IP entities. Compared with the anonymous wireless authentication protocol proposed by Peng et al., the proposed protocol reduces the computation load at the MN.
