NEW IBM IMAGE PRODUCTS.

Abstract

June 1986 saw the announcement, in the USA, of a new range of IBM image products for both IBM personal computer and IBM System/370 attachment. They were announced in most European countries in late September-early October 1986. This paper attempts to show the main features of the new products and to show how they might be relevant to the data processing environment of operational systems and to the office systems environment. In addition to facts about the products, the paper will address the possible uses of the equipment and the types of activities the DP professionals will undertake to incorporate image into an organisation's data processing.
