Numerical simulations of the electrical characteristics and the efficiencies of single-layer organic light emitting diodes
Abstract
Numerical simulations were performed on the current and the efficiency of monopolar and bipolar organic light emitting diodes with emphasis on the boundary conditions. In particular, the simulations considered electric field-dependent mobilities, diffusion, and thermionic injection at the metal/organic interfaces. The theoretical results were compared with those from experiments performed on poly[2-methoxy,5-(2-ethylhexoxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene]-based devices.
