The heat capacity of cuprous oxide from 2.8 to 21°K
Abstract
The heat capacity of Cu2O has been measured from 2.8 to 21°K. Although no anomalous peaks are observed, there are similarities below 15°K. to the heat capacity of highly annealed Ag2O, which is isostructural with Cu2O. The observed heat capacity is lower than predicted by a Debye extrapolation from data above 14°K., and a revised value of 22.26 ± 0.5 cal. deg.-1 was obtained for S0298.15.
