Universality of decoherence for macroscopic quantum superpositions
Abstract
Low-frequency fluctuation (LFF) was demonstrated in VCSELs subject to isotropic optical feedback, including the observation of LFF of a single mode without any additional external anisotropies. The polarization properties of the feedback dynamics were shown to depend on the magnitude of the intrinsic dichroism of the specific device under study. Theoretical analysis of two-mode models of VCSEL devices was also proposed as a promising approach to understand the relevance of multimode dynamics and the transition between single and multimode behavior in LFF.
