Ioana Giurgiu

I joined IBM in 2012 and am currently a Senior Research Scientist and the manager of the AI for Data Integration group, where I am involved in using AI and generative AI techniques to build composable data management systems. Previously, I have worked on automated visual inspection, with a focus on anomaly detection, as well as on predictive analytics for ITOps. My interests mainly revolve around foundation models, unsupervized learning, as well as optimization and cost models.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) in September 2012. Prior to that, in 2008 I got my Eng. degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
