Bio
Since 2016, I have been a Research Staff Member in Quantum Computing at the T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. During this time, I have worked on several projects, including: 1) Improvement of Qubit Coherence, 2) Environmental Impact on Qubit Performance (Project Lead), and 3) Studying Quantum Processor Performance as a Function of Repetition Rate (Project Lead).
Prior to joining IBM, I was an Assistant Professor of Physics at Western Illinois University from 2012-2016, before deciding a career in industry would be better suited for me. Before this, I was a post-doctoral researcher studying thermal transport properties of unconventional superconductors at extremely low temperatures with Professor Louis Taillefer in the Physics Department at the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada.
My graduate work was done in the group of Professor Ruslan Prozorov at Iowa State University/Ames National Laboratory, where I obtained my Ph.D. in 2011 in the field of condensed matter physics. My thesis focus was on studying the superconducting gap structure of newly discovered, unconventional, iron-based superconductors through sensitive measurements of the London penetration depth, just above absolute zero temperature.
